This year the Salon received 361 images, 350 digital and only 11 slides.
The Selection Panel for the Salon were Elizabeth Carruthers FPSNZ AFIAP from Tauranga (Chair), Cliff Threadgold FPSNZ ARPS of Hamilton, and Gillian Hodgson APSNZ, of Tauranga.
The Panel made awards to 100 images.
The Laurie Thomas New Zealand Landscape Trophy for 2010 has been awarded to a slide entry entitled ‘Saw Cut Gorge’ by Don Pittham FPSNZ ANPSNZ of Nelson.
Silver Medals were awarded to Bob McCree FPSNZ of Manukau City for ‘Moody Mists’ and Barry Whitnall LPSNZ from Murchison for his ‘First Light at Wharariki’.
Anita Kirkpatrick of Christchurch won Bronze for ‘Mt Tasman’ and John Stewart LPSNZ of Christchurch also won Bronze for his image ‘The Heads’.
The following photographers were awarded Honours;
Desma Edney LRPS of North Shore for ‘Evening Mist St Bathans’, John Thornton of Christchurch for ‘Dust on the Rangitata’, Bevan Tulett FPSNZ of Christchurch for ‘Mackenzie Morning’ andBarry Whitnall LPSNZ of Murchison for ‘Cold Current’
In addition the Selection Panel awarded 91 Acceptances.

This Landscape Salon was established in 1997 and is run by the Christchurch Photographic Society in memory of former member the late Laurie Thomas, using part of a generous legacy he left to the Society. He was a keen photographer of the New Zealand landscape using the medium of slides.
