| In todays throw-away society, the architecture of the 1st half of the 20th century gives some permanence to small communities today.
Driving through these towns & villages, I see churches, lodges, stores, post offices, pubs & cottages that pique my imagination.
These buildings were centres of once thriving communities and one wonders at the stories they could tell.
I love to photograph these old structures to capture the imagery of the past.
I have developed a technique that enhances a very ordinary photograph of a building and emphasises its architectural features, giving it a hand drawn look.
This method works well with old buildings, some of which have been lovingly restored, while others look ready for the bulldozer.
My collection is an attempt to record for posterity some of the buildings that people tend to take for granted in their everyday environment.
